Please be an informed voter

This election season, please don’t let money influence your vote. As the spouse of a candidate, I’ve seen how outside groups try to create division and spread false information in our community. Some mailers claim to “check the facts,” and as a voter, I encourage you to do just that.

Look at the actual sources. A La Plata County Democrat Forum took place on July 2, and can be fact-checked through that Zoom meeting with Colorado Senate and House candidates. Additionally, Club 20 held a nonpartisan debate on Sept. 21, and you can watch this on their YouTube channel, which includes both Senate and House candidates along with Congressional debates.

Furthermore, a Story Corps Archive from Dec. 10, 2022, features the mayors of Cortez and Ignacio having a respectful discussion with two different perspectives. It’s worth a listen to understand balanced governance. Clark stands for balance and diversity in representation, striving to build bridges back to the middle, restoring a governance that can reach common ground.

Lastly, despite what Colorado Way Forward claims about appearances on PBS and NBC in September, my husband was never on either network. This group is spreading lies to manipulate your vote. Please, be an informed voter and let these outside interests know that our community’s vote cannot be bought. Balance and inclusiveness should guide us forward.
