Pickup runs off Road G, rolls over; driver injured

A driver was injured in a rollover Thursday on County Road G after running off the road and crashing at the bottom of an embankment.

According to Montezuma County Sheriff Steve Nowlin, the crash involved alcohol.

The driver of the pickup truck sustained unknown injuries in the crash, which was reported about 4:56 p.m., according to Deputy Justen Goodall of the Montezuma Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred at 19177 County Road G. The road remained open, but officers positioned themselves at the curve and along the road to slow down traffic.

The driver was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital about 5:20 p.m., according to Cortez Dispatch.

Colorado State Patrol was present at the scene, but the investigation of the crash was turned over to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, according to Nowlin.
