Paths to Mesa Verde meeting scheduled for Dec. 4

Trail proposal links Cortez, Mesa Verde, Mancos
The proposed Paths to Mesa Verde would be for multiple recreation uses.

Organizers of Paths to Mesa Verde — a proposed multiuse trail between Cortez and Mancos — will hold a public meeting Dec. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cortez Recreation Center to discuss the status of the project.

The proposed trail would provide a safe alternative transportation route along U.S. Highway 160 that will connect Cortez and Mancos. It would also provide access to Mesa Verde National Park, the Phil’s World trail system, Southwest Colorado Community College and the Montezuma County fairgrounds.

There will be a short presentation on the status of the trail’s initial planning phase, a question-and-answer session and a public workshop with maps.
