Montezuma County political party caucuses will be held in early March.
Republicans will meet March 1 at 7 p.m. in person at precinct locations. Democrats will meet March 5 at 9 a.m. virtually.
A registration link for the Democrat caucus will be emailed this weekend and will be on their website montezumadems.org and on their Facebook page.
At precinct caucuses, political parties gather to nominate and elect delegates who attend the general assembly and vote which candidates make the June 28 primary ballot. It is possible to petition onto the primary ballot as well.
At the Republican party caucuses, candidate introductions will be read at each precinct, or candidates may attend and speak.
The Democrats will air 2-minute videos of state and national candidates during the online event.
The General Assembly for the Republicans is March 11 at 6 p.m. at the County Annex 107 N. Chestnut, Cortez.
The General Assembly for Democrats will take place on the same day of the caucus, March 5 at 11 a.m. virtually.
