Visual treats that give a thrill,
When written backwards the
Lines Reverse Nil.
“Madam, I’m Adam” was the first one.
“Eve,” she replied, not to be outdone.
Perhaps “Dogma: I am God” came before.
No one seems to remember any more.
Isn’t it grand that English (modern)
Was spoken in that Eden Garden?
Next, as history repeated there and back
Came the verdict: “Cain – a man, a maniac.”
Later, oddly eschewing French in this art,
“Able was I ere I saw Elba,” spat Bonaparte.
Some take a more earthy tack –
“Campus motto: bottoms up, Mac!”
“Lass, a vast ego gets a vassal,”
Whispered the laird of many a castle.
Snippets of time, the Palindromist saw –
“A man, a plan, a canal: Panama.”
Wee bits of our past, preserved, put on view.
Will the next sweet palindrome come from you?
