Outlier Cellars hosts photographer, ‘soulgrass’ band

Durango-based “soulgrass” band Sunny and The Whiskey Machine will take the stage at Outlier Cellars in Mancos this weekend.

Outlier Cellars at 141 S. Main St. has some artistic showcases on the horizon.

Saturday afternoon, the cider bar will host a reception for local nature photographer Michael Remke, from 4-6 p.m. Remke specializes in landscape photography and moved back to Durango after earning a doctorate in ecological sciences from Northern Arizona University. His photographs will be on display at Outlier through March 3. Some of his work can be seen online at mremke.com.

Later on that evening from 7-9 p.m., “soulgrass” band “Sunny and The Whiskey Machine” will take the stage at Outlier. The Durango-based crew consists of Sunny Gable, Guy Ewing, Jeff Moorehead and David Sachs, who blend together country, blues, rock ’n’ roll, bluegrass, and soul in their performances throughout southern Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah.
