Kokanee salmon give-away to be held

Colorado Parks and Wildlife will give away kokanee salmon in Durango at 3 p.m. Friday and Dec. 4 at the boat ramp at Lake Nighthorse. Each give-away should be completed by 4 p.m.

Anyone wanting fish must present a 2015 Colorado fishing license. The number of fish each person receives will be determined by the number of kokanee collected by staff and the number of people who show up.

To get to the boat ramp, go west on County Road 210 behind the Office Depot shopping center to the top of the hill. CPW staff will be at the entrance to direct traffic. People are asked to arrive at the gate no earlier than 2 p.m. People must stay in the parking lot and will not be able to walk around any other part of the property.

People interested in receiving fish should bring a small cooler or other container.
