Last week when traveling to Durango, I noticed a simple mistake by someone that just didn’t make sense.
South of the Farmington Hill on Highway 550, the deer fence has been installed throughout its length during the recent project with gates a few places for access for various reasons.
I noticed one of the gates hanging wide-open, and directly in front of it on the highway a deer had been hit.
With all the money spent to avoid this exact incident, an open gate just funnels them onto the highway basically somewhat making the fence a waste. Unfortunately, so many times you see this at numerous places while traveling.
