One person was seriously injured and flown to a hospital after a three-car collision Monday morning northwest of Mancos on Colorado Highway 184.
The crash occurred about a mile from the scene of a fatal crash last week.
According to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Gabriel Moltrer, the crash occurred near milepost 16 on Colorado 184 at 8:57 a.m.
Moltrer told The Journal the crash involved three cars, including a rollover.
One person was flown by helicopter from the scene.
The road was closed to traffic at 9:04 a.m. About 9:58 a.m., law enforcement officers at the scene began talking about opening at least one lane.
The westbound lane was open to alternating traffic at 10:17 a.m., while the eastbound lane was closed.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
This crash comes six days after a fatal crash on Colorado 184 near milepost 15 that killed a Dolores High School student and injured two others.
The deceased teen was later identified by the Mancos Marshal’s Office as Jesse “JD” Minor, son of a Marshal’s deputy Jesse Minor.
A candlelight vigil is being held in Minor’s honor at the Dolores High School football field on Tuesday night. Organizers are asking participants to arrive between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., with the candlelight vigil to start at sundown.
