News flash: Today’s GOP can no longer claim the compassionate conservatism of the Reagan/Bush years. The party that you’ve always voted for seeks to end democracy. I repeat end democracy. Today’s GOP is vindictive, violent and extremist. They lie to you about everything from teachers subverting/grooming your child to hardworking Americans getting affordable medications and seniors losing Social Security benefits.
Vindictive: No compassion for girls/women impregnated by rape or victims of incest. Religion now overrules American family-planning freedoms. Criminalization of LGBTQ gender health care, who to love and the ability to get insurance for medication against disease.
Violent: Jan. 6 Insurrection injured 114 Capitol police and killed five. The attempted assassination-by-noose of former Vice President Mike Pence. Threats of civil war if former President Donald Trump is convicted. Physical attacks against election workers; threats to place thousands of armed “poll watchers.”
Extremist: 40% to 50% of Republicans believe President Joe Biden lost the 2020 election. Republicans vote for state legislatures – not the voter – to decide future elections. Nationwide abortion ban. Four hundred forty voter suppression bills introduced, based on racial demographics. Calling Proud Boys and Oath Keepers “heroes” for attacking Congress. House Republicans voted to abolish the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
