I wonder if the Strater Hotel owners might consider naming a room after someone in the arts who entertained the people of Durango six nights a week for more than 20 years.
If so, I would recommend Johnny Maddox, who has a star on Hollywood Boulevard for his nine gold records. People came from all over the world just to hear him play. He had an old-fashioned Southern charm and was always gracious to the customers of the Diamond Belle.
