‘Monumental implications’ with RV park

I am shocked that the local Planning Department is so short of staff that they have to hire an out-of-town firm to study the feasibility of Roberts Resorts RV Park, an enormous project with such monumental implications.

Trimble Lane is a small county road that is suffering from overuse. We already have an 18-hole golf course, two Dalton housing developments, Trimble Crossing housing development and the approved Dalton West project for 51 homes. Add to that the current retail of PJ’s Gourmet Market, Animas Wine & Spirits, Trimble Hardware, a real estate office and a nursery.

Additionally, traffic from the gravel pit and Hermosa Mini Storage make it a very tight road. Do we still have room for bicycles? What has happened is already done. What we can do is stop any further development going forward.

Decisions about our valley, our community should be decided by the people who live here, not some company on the Front Range.
