Starting June 3, Montezuma-Cortez School District Nutrition Services will provide free summer meals for children who live in the district and need meals during the summer.

The first meal will be handed out on Monday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“When school’s out, free summer meals are in,” the district said in an announcement.

There is no cost or enrollment to participate, and the free meals are open to all local youths under 18 years old.

The pickup location for the meals is Kemper Elementary School, 620 E. Montezuma Ave. Every Monday in June and four Mondays in July, parents or guardians can pick up four breakfasts and four lunches for the children who are registered.

Those who wish to sign their child up for the free meals can fill out a short survey created by the Montezuma-Cortez School District Nutrition Services online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YFNM33X.
