Montezuma deputies respond to second overdose report in a week

Deputies respond to second overdose report this week

A woman was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning after a reported overdose.

Montezuma County Sheriff deputies responded at 12:46 a.m. to a reported overdose in the 33000 block of County Road M. A woman said she had taken between 10 and 20 pills of an unknown description, and had been drinking alcohol all day. Paramedics arrived to transport her to the hospital just before 1:30 a.m.

When deputies arrived, the woman was conscious but had apparently vomited into the kitchen sink. When asked if she had taken the pills in order to hurt herself, she would only respond, “I am tired,” according to responding deputies. A man also was in the house at the time.

A Cortez woman was taken to the hospital on Saturday morning after reportedly overdosing on methamphetamines.
