The Montezuma-Cortez RE-1 School District announced Wednesday that it is looking for people to rent out rooms for incoming teachers.

“We have reliable, responsible teachers moving to the area from other locations in Colorado, out of state and international,” the district said.

If members of the community have the space in their home to rent a room to a teachers the district has provided a survey form to fill out to state availability and willingness to host a teacher.

The survey can be completed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z6JQ5JX. Interested individuals can also reach out to the district’s Human Resources team by calling (970) 565-7282 (extension 1106).

The survey asks basic questions to learn if the offered room is furnished, if pets are welcome, if smoking is permitted and more to learn the homeowner’s preference.

The survey will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
