On Tuesday morning, the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners unanimously voted to renew the annual funding for the Public Health Department’s diaper program.
Born out of a pandemic need for diapers and other supplies, the program is funded by the Colorado Department of Human Services. It is managed and run by a division of the Public Health Department called Women, Infants and Children.
The grant provides the program with $55,039.05, which includes $4,000 for 120 hours of staff time.
The diaper program serves about 170 families per month, and does not have the funding to accept new clients.
