Montelores Early Childhood Council will host a Children’s festival and back-to-school suppl drive this summer.
The Children’s Festival will take place from 9 a.m. to noon July 24 at Veterans Park. The festival will offer free vision, growth, dental, hearing, social-emotional and developmental screenings. Filled preschool backpacks will also be given out.
The back-to-school drive is planned for Aug. 7. Additional details will be announced at a later date. Filled backpacks for kindergarten to 12th graders will be distributed Aug. 7 to students who reside in Montezuma County.
Donations help cover MECC’s costs, which include tote bags and takeaways for each family, food for more than 100 volunteers, marketing materials, school supplies and backpacks.
