Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering free park entrance to active-duty military as well as veterans in August.

Eligible individuals may get their pass in advance at any CPW office or state park to avoid delays at the gate.

Veterans and active-duty military personnel may obtain a military hang-tag pass valid for free admission during the month of August by showing the CPW parks staff one of the following: active or retired military identification; DD Form 2; DD Form 2765; DD214; Veterans Affairs medical card; or a current Colorado driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

Once confirmed, the military hang-tag pass is issued to the service member and admits all passengers in their vehicle. Although entrance fees are waived in August, activities such as fishing and camping will still require a valid license or permit.
