Gear up for a night of music, drinks and community at Mixed in Mancos 2025, Saturday, March 8 at the Mancos Opera House, 136 Grand Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The “annual celebration of local music,” hosted by the Mancos Creative District, will boast three Four Corners bands, whose performances will be recorded for release on CD and vinyl.
“The craft of songwriting is promoted through the selection of original tunes, and local visual art is featured on the album,” the Mancos Creative District said.
This year, a songwriting panel will form Friday, March 7 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mancos Commons, 135 Grand Ave.
The panel, which will be hosted by author and Mancos Creative District member Mark Stevens, will utilize the tips, insights and methods to songwriting from this year’s and last year’s featured bands. The panel is free and open to the public.
The lineup for March 8 is The Lindells at 6 p.m., Carute Roma at 7:30 p.m. and Tha ‘Yoties at 9 p.m.
The Lindells were described as a “postapocalyptic folk rock exploration.”
“The Lindells feature intricate guitar lines, melodic vocal harmonies, a powerful rhythm section and complex keyboards. For over four decades, Chris and Kim Lindell have written songs that reveal the many facets of songcraft,” the Mancos Creative District said.
Carute Roma is a combination of classic Roma and multicultural songs with “unique, original tunes.” This high-energy band, which is based in Southwest Colorado, includes the fiddle, accordion, trumpet, guitar, bass and drums paired with vocal harmonies in nine languages.
“Together for 20 years, the founding group of four has doubled in size, growing into a well-rounded and talented band of local musicians,” the Mancos Creative District said. “Dedicated to bringing joy and smiles wherever they play, Carute Roma gets everyone dancing.”
Tha ‘Yoties are a reggae/rock band that combines rock, reggae, ska and metal. The band, based in Flagstaff, is noted also for their impact outside of music.
“Lyrically, their music reflects the historic and contemporary struggles of Native American tribes of the Southwest,” the Mancos Creative District said online. “Through the universal language of music, Tha ‘Yoties are howling for the Indigenous people and lands of the Colorado Plateau.”
The show is open to all ages, but attendees 21 years old and older must have an ID to consume alcohol.
Refreshments will be available from Mancos Brewing, Fenceline Cider and Mancos Liquors. Mancos Brewing’s DeWayne Jackson will be “crafting” a beer just for Mixed in Mancos 2025.
Mixed in Mancos 2024 albums will also be available for purchase at the event.
The event is expected to sell out. Tickets can be purchased online at https://bit.ly/MixedinMancos2025.
