Community members will be able to meet the candidates running for Mancos school board at a forum on Monday.
This November, eight candidates will vie for three open seats. Two of the seats are held by directors Pam Coppinger and Tim Hunter, whose terms expire in November. Both directors are seeking reelection.
The other open spot was held by former Treasurer Ed Whritner, who resigned in June to take on a new job coordinating project-based learning efforts for the Mancos School District Re-6.
Besides Hunter and Coppinger, the other candidates running are Nick Manning, Tressa Jukes, Bridgett Jabour, Katie Cahill-Volpe, Adam Priestley, and Gina Love.
The “Meet the Candidates” forum is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in the new Mancos school cafeteria.
