McPhee Reservoir closing boat ramps for winter

Nonmotorized, exempt boats can still launch
McPhee Reservoir boat ramps will close Oct. 31 and reopen on May 1. Motorized boating is not allowed on the lake unless boat ramps are open. Nonmotorized boats such as paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks can still launch on the lake by hand.

McPhee and House Creek boat ramps on McPhee Reservoir will close for the season on Tuesday, Oct. 31, and will reopen on May 1.

Due to low visitation during winter months, Colorado Parks and Wildlife aquatic nuisance species inspectors will not staff inspection stations at both ramps. Therefore, the closures will be enforced to prevent the infestation of non-native quagga and zebra mussels. However, exempt boats, such as paddle boards, kayaks and nonmotorized or nontrailered boats, will still be allowed to launch onto the lake.
