Master gardeners share secrets at Anasazi Heritage Center

Master gardeners will divulge their secrets to keeping plants happy and healthy and introduce this year’s Plant Select varieties on Planting Day, June 4, at 10 a.m. at the Anasazi Heritage Center Plaza.

The Plant Select program connects horticulturists and nurseries with Colorado State University and the Denver Botanic Gardens to discover, identify and distribute the very best plants for landscaping in the high plains and intermountain region. The gardens surrounding the Anasazi Heritage Center feature many Plant Select varieties and participants will be able to plant in the demonstration garden while learning about choosing plants for their private gardens.

The series concludes on Saturday, July 9, at 10 a.m. with a presentation called Weeds and Things at the Anasazi Heritage Center Plaza. Participants will have the opportunity to dig with master gardeners to practice identifying those unwanted plants in the garden beds. This session features best management practices, and an opportunity to ask any type of gardening questions.

Each session is about two hours long. To learn more, call the Anasazi Heritage Center at 970-882-5600.
