Map and compass workshop scheduled at Cortez library

For The Journal

The public is invited to a class on map and compass training on Tuesday, May 10 from 7–10 p.m. at the Cortez Public Library conference room, 202 S. Park St. in Cortez.

The workshop is free for the club members and community.

Arrive a little early so the class can start on time and bring an orienteering compass if you have one – otherwise, some will be provided to borrow. You also will need something to take notes with. Maps will be provided.

The in-field portion of this training will be determined at the classroom portion. Rick Ryan, a retired BLM employee, is excited to provide this opportunity to our members and the public. For more information, visit www.mesaverdehorsemen.com or call 970-564-1042.
