Mancos wrestling team edges Ignacio in spirited dual

Ty Everett picks up pin victory as Mancos wins, 30-24

Competing in the friendly confines of its home gym, the Mancos High School wrestling team took on Ignacio High School on Tuesday and walked away with a 30-24 victory over its San Juan Basin League opponent.

Among the Bluejays’ wrestlers who picked up a victory was 138-pounder Ty Everett, who pinned Ignacio’s Isaac Welker in the second period of what turned out to be a spirited match.

Also earning wins for Mancos were 106-pounder Jake Lewis, 113-pounder Carter Galloway, 145-pounder Breccen Morelli and 160-pounder Chase Moore. Each of the four wrestlers won by forfeit after Ignacio failed to produce a wrestler in their respective weight classes.
