The Mancos Valley Summer Brewfest, hosted by the Mancos Brewing Co., welcomed 400 revelers Aug. 20 and raised nearly $17,000 for two local nonprofits, according to Mancos Valley Resources.

The proceeds will be divided between Mancos Valley Resources, the leading fiscal sponsor for 15 charitable projects in the Mancos Valley and their project, Mancos Trails Group, said a news release from MVR administrator Kim Cox.

Kathy Hands and Dewayne Jackson, owners of Mancos Brewing Co., created the Brewfest in 2015 as a way to support Mancos nonprofits and give back to the community they love.

More than 40 sponsors supported the event with beer provided from the Mancos Brewing Co., Anarchy Brewing and Bottom Shelf Brewery. Fenceline provided cider, and the Yellow Car Winery provided wine.

The event featured live music performances from State 38, the Lawn Chair Kings and The Crags.
