Mancos boil alert order lifted

Water is OK to drink
Crews worked on replacing valves at the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 and Colorado 184 on Monday.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has given the green light to Mancos water system users. A boil alert has been in effect since water service was restored on Monday afternoon. Lines have been flushed and sampled throughout the system. Samples have been approved by the state health department. Users can now drink the water and wash dishes. Boiling the water first is no longer required.

Water was temporarily shut off town-wide in Mancos on Monday from 9 a.m. to about 3 p.m. to allow crews to install three new water main valves at the intersection of U.S. 160 and Colorado 184 as part of the Mancos water system improvements project.

Please see www.mancoscolorado.com for more information. The town plans to keep the website up to date.
