‘Mancos Antique Road Show’ to benefit historical society

The Mancos Valley Historical Society will sponsor antique appraisals at the Mancos Community Center on Sunday, Aug. 20.

According to a news release from the historical society, six professional appraisers will be available from noon to 4 p.m. to determine the value of all kinds of antiques, including furniture, jewelry and dishes. The appraisers will also include an expert in Native American items.

“Appraisals will be based on current market values and are the opinions of the local appraisers,” the release said.

There will be a $10 fee for each item appraised. Proceeds will go to the historical society’s fund for a potential future museum. The event will be free for spectators.

The Mancos Community Center is at 130 W. Grand Ave. For more information about the antique event, contact Kelly Kilgore at 970-533-9138.
