Letter ‘dated’ info from Boebert site

On July 9, a Durango resident’s letter to the editor was published with the headline, “God bless Lauren Boebert.” This composition relied upon dated information, probably taken from Boebert’s website, thus misleads readers.

The following statement came from Boebert’s website:

“I voted for four pro-veteran bills that became law including: the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2021, the VA Transparency and Trust Act of 2021, the Col. John M. McHugh Tuition Fairness for Survivors Act, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of 2021.”

All four of the bills passed the House on motion to suspend the rules, and pass the bills agreed by the yeas and nays (two-thirds required). Both the Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of 2021 and the Veterans’ Compensation Cost of Living Adjustment Act of 2021 passed the house unanimously on Mon., Sept. 20, 2021. In regard to the VA Transparency and Trust Act of 2021, the bill passed the House 411 to 4 on May 17, 2021. The Col. John M. McHugh Tuition Fairness for Survivors Act passed unanimously on Nov. 15, 2021, 424 to 0.

All four bills passed almost completely unanimously, and Boebert did vote in the affirmative with the overwhelming majorities, including every Democrat. Since all four were passed into law, the fact that President Joe Biden was part of the process was conveniently ignored.

Boebert and the MAGA-nistas voted earlier this year to cut the VA funding by 22%, thus eliminating more than 80,000 health service jobs. Boebert is an “ultra MAGA” follower.
