Let the town cook for you Friday

Mancos town officials will cook a free community holiday dinner for Mancos Residents Friday, Dec. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mancos Community Center.

Santa is also expected to make an appearance.

Leslie Hopkins, Parks and Recreation Coordinator for the town of Mancos, said the community dinner usually serves between 100 and 200 people.

Six turkeys, six hams, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and stuffing are on the menu.

This annual tradition has town staff, and town board members do the work.

"It's a friendly thing for the town to do," Hopkins said. "It lets the community get together with family and friends."

Pies and cookies will also be served.

"Come and eat and visit for the holidays," Hopkins said.
