After opening its season with an 8-0 victory over Pagosa Springs, the Montezuma-Cortez High School girls soccer team lost consecutive games last weekend to fall to 1-2-0 on the season.
The first of the Lady Panthers losses came on March 13 when M-CHS was unable to control Grand Junction’s offensive attack and fell, 6-0. Grand Junction senior Leah Swander scored three goals and three other Tigers players scored.
M-CHS played its second game of the weekend against Grand Junction Central on March 14 and lost 4-0. The Lady Panthers trailed 1-0 at halftime before surrendering three second-half goals.
Next up for M-CHS will be a road matchup against Fruita Monument on March 20, followed by a road game against Montrose on March 21.
