JLD Architecture comes to Mancos

Couple moves from Southern California

Architect Janine Denney has relocated to Mancos and brought her 30 years of architecture experience along.

Denney’s portfolio of work with her company JLD Architecture and Planning includes everything from simple carports and porches to medical radiology suites, she said. She and her husband, a contractor, permanently relocated to Mancos from Southern California last June after visiting seasonally for many years, Denney said.

“This is our final destiny,” she said.

Denney grew up on the east coast and attended college at North Carolina State University before working in Southern California, she said. She is open to taking on just about any project, including medical buildings, schools, restaurants, strip malls and homes, she said. She is a licensed architect in Colorado and California.

One of the top projects Denney worked on was the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Sea Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she said.

Denney has experience in assembling design teams and working with contractors, she said.

“I can take your project from concept to completion and from predesign to permitting,” she said.
