January music

The Journal

The winter cold may be here, but there’s still plenty to do in Mancos, with a wide variety of musicians playing at local venues this January.

At Fenceline Cider, the eclectic, Southwestern-based band Mesquite will play Friday, Jan. 3, followed by local bluegrass group La La Bones on Jan. 11. “Country-fried indie rock” will come to the cidery Jan. 18 with a show by Farmington Hill, and indie folk-rock duo You Knew Me When will take the stage Jan. 24.

All January shows at the cidery will start at 7 p.m.

Over at the Mancos Brewing Co., acoustic guitarist Matt Rupnow will perform Friday, Jan. 3, and local folk duo Jamie & the Dreamers will play tunes Saturday, Jan. 4. On Jan. 25, five-piece jam band Red Eyed Djinn will play in honor of Kathy’s Birthday Bash.

All brewery performances are set to begin at 6 p.m.
