After obtaining charges in incidents that the Cortez Police Department say have taken place since October, Isaac Sanchez was arrested again on Friday.
The first incident, on Oct. 9, resulted in Sanchez being trespassed from Love on a Hanger, and the following one occurred after Sanchez allegedly violated a no-trespass order at a Speedway gas station.
Not long after violating his trespass from Speedway, Sanchez was arrested for allegedly violating a restraining order that states that he cannot possess or consume alcohol.
On Nov. 8, officer Andrew Archer was dispatched to a disturbance at Burger Boy, where several people were reported to be “pushing and shoving.”
Archer spoke with Cyntheria Maryboy, who told police that she and Sanchez had been fighting because he was upset that Maryboy and Delphine Blueyes were “hanging out.” Maryboy alleged that Sanchez had threatened her with a knife.
When police contacted Blueyes and Sanchez, police found a bottle of alcohol on Sanchez’s person, as well as a small bag of marijuana and the knife that matched Maryboy’s description.
Police were unable to pursue charges, however, because of the conflicting accounts of the fight from Sanchez, Blueyes and Maryboy.
Sanchez was arrested for obstruction of justice, which involved violating a restraining order that states he may not consume alcohol or possess weapons.
On Nov. 11, officer Tyler Smith responded to the area near the Methodist Thrift Shop for reports of assault. The caller told Smith that she had seen Sanchez “hit and put his hands” around a woman’s neck behind the thrift shop.
The woman has a protection order from Sanchez, which states they could only have “non-harassing contact” and that he was “restrained from assaulting” her.
When Smith found the woman near Ocean Pearl, he reported that she had a “bloody, swollen nose” as well as having blood on her hands. She told Smith that “nothing” had happened, according to Smith’s report. At this point, Sanchez was not with her, and she declined when asked if Sanchez had caused her injuries.
Back at the thrift shop, the employee told Smith she had heard yelling and saw on the shop’s cameras that Sanchez slapped the woman Smith said he found blood that seemed to be fresh on the concrete near where Sanchez and the woman were reported to have their altercation.
Since the alleged assault, Sanchez was again charged with obstruction of justice.
He will appear in Montezuma County Court in front of Judge Ian MacLaren on Wednesday at 9 a.m.
