Drivers are encouraged to use caution this summer and winter on Forest Road 504, known as the Lone Dome Road, because of increased logging truck activity, according to the San Juan National Forest.

The road is accessed from the Bradfield Bridge northwest of Dolores.

An alternative route from Dolores to the Glade area is the Dolores-Norwood Road (Forest Road 526) north to Forest Road 514, then 514 to the Glade.

Another route to the Dolores River Canyon is Forest Road 514 to the Ormiston Point Road (521).
