No votes totaled 870 of the votes cast, or 61 percent, while only 560 voters, or 39 percent, said yes.
The Ballot Issue 6D would have increased the mill levy from .244 mills to .475 mills, or $3.42 annually for every $100,000 in evaluation, said Laura Whitt, the treasurer for the district.
The district provides upkeep for five cemeteries in the eastern side of the county: Ignacio East and West, Allison, Oxford and Tiffany.
