How about donating money to schools?

The unsuccessful November ballot measure 4A asked voters to increase local funding for Cortez Public Schools. The funding would have increased salary and benefits for teachers, support staff, bus drivers and cafeteria workers, and funding to hire additional school safety personnel.

In the Montezuma-Cortez School District, the measure failed. However, 2,250 citizens voted in favor of the increased funding.

Perhaps those who voted in favor of the funding increase would consider donating their share to the Cortez Public Schools? Melissa Brunner, director of finance for Cortez Public Schools, can help calculate your share of measure 4A had it passed.

Your vote can still count.
