With the Fourth of July just over, many Americans took part in cookouts, parades, fireworks (if your town was lucky enough to have them) and other activities. However, none of those activities get at the heart and significance of Independence Day. It’s right there in the name.
It celebrates our forefathers and the founders of the greatest country on earth in the name of freedom. Celebrates their courage to throw off the shackles of a tyrannical government whose only goal was to subjugate its citizens, and enrich themselves and the aristocracy at the expense of the common man. Similar to what we see lately.
Independence Day celebrates the human right and desire to be free. That from many, we are one. There are no hyphenated Americans, just Americans. So as you ate your hotdog or watched fireworks, we hope you took a moment to appreciate and realize nothing in your life today would not be possible without those patriots.
We hope you enjoyed our Independence Day, a holiday made possible by Americans with guns. God bless America!
