Hip-hop and eclectic strings music are coming to Outlier Cellars in the next week.

The Durango-based Diabolical Sound Platoon will perform at the Mancos cidery Saturday night from 7-9 p.m. The hip hop band was founded in the 1990s and now features two emcees (or “wordsmiths”) and five instrumentalists on the trombone, electric guitar, electric bass and drums.

On March 28, two musicians from the Birds of Play acoustic trio will take the stage at Outlier. The band takes inspiration from the wild outdoors, mixing a range of genres including folk, bluegrass and blues. Thursday night’s show will feature bass and mandolin-player Eric Shedd and Alex Paul on guitar and mandolin, performing as a duo.

The performance is 7-9 p.m.
