Football Standouts
Coby Baer (M-CHS) Baer was responsible for all the Panthers’ points in their 10-7 win over Pagosa Springs last week. His one-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter gave M-CHS a 7-0 lead, and his 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter supplied the go-ahead-score.
Zach McDonald (M-CHS) McDonald feasted on the Pagosa Springs offense – recording 10 solo tackles and two sacks – on his way to 13 total tackles in the Panthers’ second win of the season.
Josh McCoy (Dolores) McCoy provided the Bears’ only touchdown in their 32-10 loss to John Mall last week on a 74-yard touchdown run. He rushed for 127 yards on 11 carries, and also set up Tommy Nelligan’s 35-yard field goal with a 72-yard kick return into John Mall territory.
Forrest Pejsa (Dolores) Pejsa’s 16-tackle performance against John Mall pushed him to No. 2 in Class 1 with 83 tackles on the season. He also forced a Panthers fumble in the Bears’ 32-10 loss.
