Herald writers could use thesaurus

Have The Durango Herald and The Journal writers ever heard of a thing called a thesaurus? I read far too many times the overuse of the word “uptick” in far too many articles, in far too many reports, in far too many other media sources the same word: uptick.

I have to assume the Herald and The Journal writers too are either: (1) lazy; (2) artificially intelligent; (3) educated in the most recent generation of public schools; or (4) just do not care about the long-lost craft of writing.

In any case, please Google the point and purpose of a thesaurus. It will make the Herald’s and The Journal’s writing output much more enjoyable reading. It might make even me consider to once again renew my subscription.
