Heart Path House to celebrate 10th anniversary

Montezuma Food Coalition art show will coincide with celebration

The Heart Path House, a center for holistic healing, will host a 10th-anniversary party on Sept. 14 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at 102 E. North St. in Cortez.

Across the street at the same time, the Montezuma Food Coalition will host “Feast Your Eyes,” a one-day art show at 30 N. Beech St., the future home of a local food hub.

Supported by nearly a dozen local nonprofits, the food hub seeks to increase access to local food and food education through events, classes, a small local grocery store and small-scale local food production.

The public is invited to drop by both enterprises. Health practitioners and free, locally sourced organic food will be available.

The Heart Path House provides services including psychotherapy, acupuncture, massage and Rolfing, co-founder and counselor Joanie Trussel said in a press release. It serves customers in the Four Corners region.

In addition to her counseling services, Trussel offers Hakomi therapy and spiritual mentoring.

“I felt a 10-year anniversary celebration was important to express our gratitude to the community for their love and support over the years, and also to let the whole community learn what it is we do here,” said Heart Path co-founder Nikki Gillespie, a Rolfer and Hakomi practitioner.

Other practitioners include Accunect practitioner Karen Mischke, acupuncturist Katie Thomas, massage therapist Julie Ayers, counselor and shamanic practitioner Kris Abrams and doctor of osteopathy Kelly Busby.
