Learn how glaciers helped shape the landscape while visiting some of the most picturesque lakes in the area, as certified interpretive guide MK Gunn leads a hike to the Highland Mary Lakes near Silverton on Sept. 18.
Be prepared to spend a strenuous day in the mountains.
Carpool from Durango at 7 a.m. or meet at the trailhead about 8:30 a.m.
