Free summer lunch, snacks for Dolores County children

Summer is an important time for the physical and academic well-being of children and teens, but without access to regular nutritious meals, they can suffer long-term consequences, both academically and in overall growth and development. Studies show that children are at higher risk for both hunger and obesity during the summer months.

To meet the needs of Dolores County children and teens, Care and Share Food Bank is once again sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program for children ages 1-18. The program will provide free lunches and snacks Monday through Thursday between May 28 and Aug. 1 at the Dolores County School District.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to noon, and snacks between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.
