The Farmington Police Department announced it will partner with other state and local law enforcement agencies to conduct DWI checkpoints this month.
“This joint effort underscores our commitment to ensuring the safety of our community members on the roads,” FPD spokeswoman Shanice Gonzales said in a news release.
The checkpoints will provide police an opportunity to “detect and deter” impaired driving, with the purpose of reducing accidents and preserving lives.
“By working with our partner agencies, we seek to raise awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence and encourage responsible behavior behind the wheel,” Gonzales said.
