Neighbor tried to break up with fight by shooting rounds into the air
The Farmington Police Department responded last week to a report of domestic violence.

FARMINGTON – Two arrest warrants have been issued in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred last week in Farmington.

The disturbance took place about 6 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Blue Jay Circle.

Police received numerous calls from people reporting a fight in front of the residence, with gunshots fired. When police arrived, they investigated and found that Eric Etcitty and his sister, Tanya Etcitty, were involved in a physical altercation with Eric Etcitty’s girlfriend and her family.

Nicole Brown, spokeswoman for the Farmington Police Department, said a neighbor attempted to break up the fight by firing three rounds into the air when the Etcitty siblings began to get violent with him.

An arrest warrant was issued for Eric Etcitty on suspicion of battery on a household member, false imprisonment and interference with communications. Tanya Etcitty will also have an arrest warrant issued on suspicion of battery.

The neighbor who fired the shots into the air was cited for negligent use of a firearm.
