Empire Electric Association has a planned outage at the Dove Creek substation from 11:30 p.m. April 29 to about 2 a.m. April 30.
The outage is necessary to allow EEA crews to perform required repairs and maintenance. The repairs will be made near high-voltage conductors so the substation must be de-energized to allow the work to be done in a safe manner.
Phone calls will be made to all impacted services April 29. Outage preparation and safety information can be found at www.eea.coop/prepare-outage. Turn off any electrical equipment and appliance that is not needed, especially sensitive electronics, Empire Electric said in a news release.
Accomplishing equipment maintenance and upgrades in a timely manner helps EEA provide reliable and safe electric service to homes and businesses. Outages that impact a large number of services are planned for late at night because it causes the least amount of disruption for most members.
