Eight are sentenced in Montezuma County Court

Eight named in domestic violence, DUI cases

Eight people were sentenced in Montezuma County Court before Judge JenniLynn Lawrence this week in connection with domestic violence and alcohol-related driving offenses.

On Monday, Chad Pearce was sentenced to 18 months probation in connection with a domestic violence offense.

Alex Gallegos also was handed an 18-month probation sentence in connection with a domestic violence offense.

Lance Benally was sentenced to 18 months probation for a domestic violence offense, as well as 12 months probation, a $600 fine and 24 hours of public service for an alcohol-related driving offense.

On Tuesday, Micah Hinton was granted a deferred judgment sentence on an alcohol-related driving offense and a misdemeanor child abuse offense. As condition of the deferred judgment, Hinton will have to complete one year of probation and 24 hours of public service.

Catherine Keck was sentenced to 20 days of in-home monitoring for a second DUI offense. She will also be required to complete 24 months probation and 60 hours of public service.

Nichelle Betts, Robert Bowen and William Wolgamott were granted deferred judgment sentences in connection with first DUI offenses. Wolgamott will be required to complete 48 hours of public service, while Betts and Bowen will be required to compete 24 hours of public service.
