There are at least two letters from readers in The Journal that condemn Donald Trump for allegedly calling American soldiers “suckers and losers.” This quote came from “anonymous sources” in an article in The Atlantic magazine written by Jeff Goldberg on Sept. 3, 2020. Jeff Goldberg has been and is a Trump critic. And, The Atlantic is a very liberal and partisan (Democrat) publication. You will not find favorable articles about Trump from either this author or that publication.
Bottom line is there is no solid evidence Trump said those things and Trump himself has denied ever saying that. His staff has stated that they have never heard anything like this from their boss. You can search the internet and find dozens of reports of Trump meeting with Gold Star families and injured soldiers in military hospitals. That is the Trump I know.
So, these two letter writers are free to believe what they want; but for every writer who parrots liberal/leftist lies about Trump, I can find dozens who know that those are false characterizations.
