Dolores youths do well at horse show

Jasper Breitenbach, of Dolores, jumps his horse Sunday at the Four Corners Dressage and Combined Training Horse Show at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds. More than 60 people from the Four Corners area competed in the event.

Two local students performed well over the weekend at the Four Corners Dressage and Combined Training Horse Show at the Montezuma County Fairgrounds.

Jasper Breitenbach and Erin Ryan both walked waay with first-place honors.

Erin Ryan won a first-place award in the 17-and-under Greenhorn Combined Test on Peppy's Violet James. Breitenbach won first-place in the Pre-Comp Combined Test 17-and-under on his horse, A Spring Dance.

Cortez resident Francesca Toms won a fourth-place award BN Combined Test.

Toms took home a first-place in Novice B 17-and under on her horse Carpe Diem.

Bucky Sparks won first-place in Gaited Intro Level Test A on his horse Eva.

Sparks also won the Gaited Intro Level Test B, Nancy Sparks took a second-place award in the same class.

First place went to Mancos resident Sophie Eschallier riding Vogue in the leadline class.
