Yard sale and flea market registrations will close on May 31

On Saturday, June 8, the Dolores Chamber of Commerce is hosting the community yard sale for residents of Dolores. People in surrounding areas are welcome to attend.

Residents within Dolores city limits can register their yard sale for free. Those who live outside Dolores and wish to participate can reserve a booth for $25. The booths will be part of the flea market at Joe Rowell Park.

“It used to be the same weekend as River Fest, so people would come in for River Fest and also do their community-wide yard sale-ing, but we moved away from that and we’re doing it different dates. It’s a way for community members to get more people to their yard sales,” Dolores Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Susan Lisak told The Journal.

Registered yard sales will be put on a yard sale map that will be given out to participants, as well as being provided with a yard sale sign to display the night before the sale starts.

The sign will include a number that corresponds with the address’s location on the yard sale map and hours the home’s yard sale will run.

Around 15 residences take part in the yard sale each year, and some Dolores businesses even have sales that run throughout the weekend. They are also included on the yard sale map.

Residents who wish to have their yard sale active for the entirety of the weekend can add on Friday, June 7 and Sunday, June 9.

“Hundreds of locals head to Dolores during the community-wide yard sale to visit the map locations, and then head over to Joe Rowell Park to see what flea market finds there are,” Lisak said.

The deadline to sign up and get on the yard sale map is Friday, May 31. Sign up can be done online at https://www.visitdolores.com/yard-sale.
